Friends of loom,
With immense gratitude and sincerity, we are excited to share with you that after 5-years of manifesting loom as a monthly celebration, loom is evolving into a new home, HOUSE OF LOOM. Come July, 1012 South 10th Street downtown will become HOUSE OF LOOM.
LOOM will continue at HOUSE OF LOOM.
Our final loom at España takes place June 2nd (RSVP here) and we hope to hold July’s loom in house of loom. You can sign-up for the newsletter here: houseofloom.com.
We owe much of our success to España's commitment and support of loom over the years. The former owner, Bill Graves, deserves a sincere thank you for taking a chance, believing in the concept and working hard to bring the dream of loom to reality. We also want to thank the current proprietor, Carlos Mendez, for sticking with us in the transition and for giving his blessing on our next chapter.
What is HOUSE OF LOOM?
To break it down, two parts of house of loom will be a lounge & nightclub concept with an emphasis on DJ-led events & occasional bands. In tandem with that, one part will be dedicated to visual & performing art and one part will be in creating something similar to what you might call a community center, but redefining that term with an edgy and progressive format.
We initially plan to be open 5-days a week, meaning we'll have plenty of flexibility for the evolution of house of loom. We're also looking for highly creative, driven & knowledgeable bar tenders. In addition to what you'd expect to come with a full bar, we'll offer a tailored selection of beers, craft cocktails, wines, whiskeys and even absinthe. We'll host regular tastings to highlight our more unique beverages and, hopefully, to celebrate the soulful and romantic side of a good drink.
What will HOUSE OF LOOM be about?
At its core, what you get is a social theory. There are a number of social theories - or methods, for creating community & social progress. Elements such as city transportation, redistricting schools boundaries or minimizing suburban sprawl are all prevalent in the on-going dialogue concerning Omaha's social climate. But while we can get people to work together, go to school together and live next to each other, at the end of the day—it doesn't mean we enjoy one another. There's a celebratory aspect missing in the equation and in a small, humble way, that's where loom comes in.
The loom social theory proposes the following: by creating socially conscious dance, music, art & educational programs, we'll in turn create community and promote social progress.
How does LOOM fit into HOUSE OF LOOM?
Up until this point, the vast majority of how we've manifested the loom social theory has been through, "loom—Weaving the Social Fabric Through Dance." loom has been a series of one-off dance parties. There will still be loom events at house of loom. Essentially, we're taking the concept beyond the dance floor to explore a wider range of events and experiences that will allow us to dive into all aspects of our ideology.
What’s the bottom line?
While the sway of commerce will inevitably keep our doors open, house of loom at its core is an artful endeavor & a social experiment. While our common vision and commitment to our mission are essential as we expand, the true success of loom is due to your continued support and positive energy. And with your continued support throughout the community, we're eager to provide the house of loom space where expression, integration and inspiration will be a regular occurrence.
Thank you for being an important part of loom and house of loom.

Congratulations to Brent and all of the people who have made Loom what it is today and to what it will be in the future. We are fortunate to live somewhere with the right community to support amazing activities (and now places) like Loom. Keep up the great work!
